Mountain Roadman
Here is a poem from my book on Afghanistan about a mountain roadman. I met this man at about 3,800 metres in the Hindu Kush mountain building a high mountain road with an old and worn shovel. It moved me greatly. Bob
Mountain Roadman
Flesh against wood and metal
His mettle against mountains of rock
Now broken in body and spirit
He who carved these roads aloft
His face was as worn as his shovel
Building roads in the Hindu Kush
And his ageing back bent double
From all the boulders he'd pushed
His reward but a sear of flour a day
Received humbly in callused hands
As he prays, "Allah O Akbar"
His reward can't be in this land

ReplyDeleteThe way you described the winding roads, the encounters with nature, and the challenges faced on your journey was nothing short of mesmerizing. To answer that question, does sephora price match in place. If you find an identical item at a lower price from a competitor, Sephora will match the price as long as it meets their terms and conditions.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your incredible mountain roadman experience, Bob McKerrow! It reminded me of the beauty and wonder that lies beyond our everyday lives. And for beauty enthusiasts like me, knowing that is 100k a year good adds an extra layer of convenience and savings when indulging in our favorite beauty treats.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your blog about the Mountain Roadman. It's a captivating journey through nature and self-discovery, much like the character Dolores in Encanto who embarks on her own adventure. How Old Is Dolores in Encanto, one might wonder, as we all find our paths and stories in different landscapes. Your storytelling is inspiring, and I look forward to more adventures through your words.
