Twenty five years later: Photographic comparisons.

This is the first reunion I have participated in my life. I have avoided them like the plague. However, haven come together as a team in 1985 and again in 1986, we bonded together through minus 70 degree temperatures and incredible hardship. So for me, going to Minnesota, USA for the 25th anniversay of our 1986 North Pole expedition, starting on 15 May, was a real joy. . Here are classic before and after photos; 1986 and 2011.

Back row: Bob McKerrow,Will Steger, Paul Schurke, Richard Weber
Front row: Geoff Carroll, Brent Boddy, Ann Bancroft, Bob Mantell
.

Note that in both photos we are in identicle positions, and the hair a little greyer.

Hi Bob

I've never been keen on reunions either, but maybe after 25 years there are many reasons to partake.

The two photos are intriguing, but what a pity the dogs could not be there. I once travelled in the hills a lot with a dog, and the bond equals the human to human ones.

Cheers

Dear Donald, I have always shunned reunions, but this one was thoroughly enjoyable and the canoe trips magnificent.

I find dogs more obedient than human beings, and less complicated. I now understand why Will Steger has done many six month trips solo, with dogs. But if you go with dogs, it is not really solo. Is it?

Still wearing those batik shirts I see.

I have a few of those in the wardrobe somewhere.

I love the Batik shirts. They don't show the dirt and they are cool. How are you?

I believe that the word is "deracinated".

I need a trip to New Zealand and a week up the Hopkins, preferably alone. Is it just my imagination or was life a lot easier thirty years ago? Nowadays life is like perpetually climbing a moraine wall. One step up and three down.

At least the weather here is good. 40 degrees in the shade and the pool at midnight is the best place to be.

Gollum, Let's go up the Hopkins together and then I will leave you at the junction of the Huxley, and climb Huxley 44 years after I first climbed it. And, we can rejoin later and climb Black Tower and McKerrow.

We only have 34 degrees today. Just got back from my morning walk rounda lake and was attacked by a crow. Stone the bloody crows!

Sounds like a plan to me.

I don't mind having a crack at Huxley. It's a big hill.

We could warm up with a bit of rock-climbing in the South Temple and then either cruise over a pass into the Ahuriri and attack from the south or go round into the Huxley and approach it that way.

Just need to work on the fitness and align our holidays.

Cheers

Dreaming I love at my age, but this could turn into reality. Mmmm...let's dream and plan more.

Danilo Hegg's site has a couple of good sets of Huxley photos that will have your mouth watering.

We need to start doing these things and I am long overdue a trip to New Zealand.

Actually it is not that hard to download flight simulators.
You must know the different points that you want from a gaming just before you acquire 1.
However, such training programs are tough to wave through since it require tons of learning patience and willingness to proven one’s innate skills.
The main purpose of a simulator
is to understand the behavior of the system.
If youre a flight sim enthusiast, the you must try the king of flight simulator games.

This could cause them to grow less, flower less, and maybe even die.

Louis, a new delivery tradition has been created: the "Mulch Man. This same person spread several yards of the mulch around their house before they realized the problem, and it ruined many of their plants.

I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your site?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful
lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space
it out better?
